The Marinette County Waterfall Tour is popular with locals and visitors alike. Marinette County, dubbed the Waterfall Capital of Wisconsin, has a unique geological structure and diversity of gradient that has created magnificent waterfalls on its many rivers. There are dozens of larger falls and hundreds of smaller ones throughout the area. There is a formal tour of about a dozen major waterfalls that are open to the public. Most are reasonably accessible and many of the waterfalls are within Marinette County Parks, offering additional facilities such as playgrounds, picnic areas, shelters, and restrooms. Some County Parks even offer camping.
The Marinette County Parks
Some waterfalls can be seen from the parking lot, while others will require a short walk to the river for viewing. Please use caution — some of the trails are rough, and the rushing waters can be dangerous. Be sure to wear good walking or hiking shoes for optimum enjoyment. We recommend allowing 2-3 days to experience the entire tour. Marinette County Trout Unlimited, Marinette County Parks and the Marinette County Highway Departments have provided signage along the routes. Look for the blue signs to help you find your way.
The Marinette County Parks do require an entry fee. There is A $3.00 per day (per car) or $12.00 per year (per car) entrance fee that can be paid at park entrances and is valid for admission to all county parks.
